A Boss and some Grots

Again I've been massively distracted this week, painting up some DW knights ready for Junes tournament so I've got a few pics of some other models in my ork army.

1st up, the grots:

These were painted up in a day. I used a really simple technique for the flesh. A white base-coat with a thraka green wash over the top
It works really well and you don't need to highlight it (unless you really want to. The bandages/cloths were painted in light browns or left white, and the spot colour was blood red (or whatever the equivalent is called). These all had a wash of agrax earthshade and the models were pretty much done apart from the guns and a few details. Really happy with this technique as it was quick, easy, and gave a great result.

The other figure is my Warboss, Grimjaw. I'm of the opinion that all warbosses should have a massive metal jaw. There's no reasoning behind this other than it looks cool. I love the model from the Black Reach box but the head was just missing that special something

Luckily I had a spare metal jaw knocking around that fitted perfectly

And there he is in all his glory. The rock was from the back garden, I wanted him to stand well above the other orks and this reminded me of the battle of Isengard from The Two Towers, pointing the way for the boyz to charge.

I Hope you enjoyed these models, the GORKAMORKA campaign starts tomorrow so I should have a few pics of some other gangs and maybe battle reports.
Untill next time,
WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAGH
